Bantwal youth booked for posting derogatory photo, comments about Prophet

shetty_copyBantwal, July 10: The Bantwal Rural Police have registered a case against a local resident for allegedly posting derogatory photo and comments about Prophet Muhammad and Islam on his social networking page.

The police booked Dilip Shetty, following a complaint lodged one Abdul Khader, a resident of Amaimar.

Shetty was being booked under Sections 295 A (deliberate act intended to outrage religious feelings) and 298 (uttering words with deliberate intent to hurt religious feeling) of IPC.

Meanwhile the obnoxious photo and comments have been removed from the face book following the swift action of cybercrime police.

It can be recalled here the activists of Popular Front of India had brought the issue to the notice of Puttur ASP M N Anuchet.

Bhatkal, May 9: A day after 12 covid-19 positive cases reported from Bhatkal, seven more tested positive for the coronavirus in the town today. 

The new patients are: a six-month-old baby, a two-and-a half-year-old child, two girls aged 17 and 23, a 50-year-old woman and two elderly men aged 65 and 68 years.

The source of all these cases is said to be the First Neuro hospital located at Padil in Mangaluru where a covid-19 patient from Bantwal had undergone treatment a month ago. Around 20 days ago an 18-year-old girl from Bhatkal, who had been to the same hospital was tested positive for the covid-19. 

After the confirmation of 12 covid-19 positive cases yesterday, the throat swab of 60 people, who were in contact with them were sent for testing. Among them seven people – six relatives and a friend – were tested positive today.

Mangaluru, May 13: Coastal district of Dakshina Kannada today reported a fresh covid-19 positive case. According to sources, this case also linked to Manglauru’s First Neuro Hospital, which has emerged as the corona hub of coastal Karnataka.

Health and Family Welfare department in its today’s bulletin revealed that a 38-year-old woman from Darandabagilu near Someshwara in Mangaluru taluk of Dakshina Kannada was tested coronavirus positive.

It is said that the woman was in touch with P-507, an octogenarian, who was being treated for neurological issues at First Neuro Hospital.

With this the total number of coronavirus positive cases reported in Dakshina Kannada rose to 34. Among them only 26 are residents of Dakshina Kannada. Four are from Kasaragod, three from Udupi and one from Bhatkal.

Among 34, currently there only 17 active cases. The condition of two among them is said to be critical.

This new feature activates refunds and credits the customer's source account across payment methods such as credit card, net banking, and UPI within a minute of initiation.
