12 families enter 'Hidayah Share and Care Colony'

Mangalore, July 13: As many as 12 new houses constructed at Kavalakatte on the outskirts of the city under the auspices of Hidayah Foundation, a city based charity organization was handed over to the beneficiaries on Friday.

With this the 12 homeless poor families secured houses of their own at 'Hidayah Share and Care Colony', the brainchild of the Foundation. The 2-acre Colony is expected to provide houses for 40 families.

In a simple evening programme dignitaries distributed the keys to the beneficiaries.

Later, Mangalore Qazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar laid the foundation stone for “Hidayah Community Development Centre”. Muhammad Fazil Razwi offered du'a.

Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Muslim Central Committee President Muhammad Masood, Taluk Panchayath Member Padmashekhar Jain, Gram Pranchayat President Yaqoob, Kavalkatte Jami'a Masjid President Shekh Rahmathullah were chief guests.

Office-bearers of Hidayah Foundation from Mangalore, Riyadh, Qatar, Dubai committees were present.

Local Masjid Qatheeb Khari Abul Hasan recited verses of Qur'an. Abdurrazaq Ananthady compered the programme.

Bengaluru, Apr 15: With the reporting of the death of an 80-yr-old female from Hirebagewadi taluk in Belagavi district, the number of persons, who were died due to COVID-19 related disease, increased to 12, in Karnataka on Wednesday.

According to official sources, the deceased was a relative of another COVID-19 infected person, was succumbed to death this morning at a designated Hospital in Belagavi district.

Chikmagalur, April 5: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Udupi Chikmagalur Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday claimed that "efforts to spread coronavirus throughout the country" began at Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi and termed it as "corona jihad".

"Efforts began at Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi to spread coronavirus throughout the country.

Most of the attendees of that event are untraceable. There seems to be 'corona Jihadi plan' behind that meeting," she said while speaking to reporters here.

Meanwhile, according to officials, out of the seven new cases from Mysuru, two cases are connected to the Jubilant Generics cluster while the rest five cases have a travel history to Delhi.

Total positive cases of COVID-19 in India stand at 3072.

Mangaluru, May 14: An 80-year-old woman from Kulshekar in Mangaluru, who was undergoing treatment for covid-19, today breathed her last in the hospital.

The victim, identified as P-507, was said to be in critical condition for past few days.

The elderly woman and her 45-year-old son were tested coronavirus positive on April 27 days after she got admitted to First Neuro hospital at Padil in the city.

With this the covid-19 death toll in Dakshina Kannada rose to five. Shockingly, all five victims are women. The district has so far reported 34 positive cases including five deaths. Currently there are only 14 active cases. 15 people have already discharged.
