Options wide open for Haladi Srinivas Shetty

hsshettyMangalore, July 15: It almost appears certain that Haladi Srinivas Shetty would leave BJP following his revelation of his dislike for RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. Mr. Shetty had told mediapersons that he was denied a place in the cabinet because he did not fall at Mr. Bhat's feet.

With the statements coming in from Mr. Shetty as well as his supporters, it does not appear that he would accept the olive branch being extended to him by the BJP.

He has reportedly received an invitation from the Congress already. JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy is also said to have requested him to join his party stating that he is need of honest politicians.

Bellary heavuweight Sriramulu is yet to contact Mr. Shetty. He is likely to hold talks with Mr. Shetty during his visit to Udupi district as part of BSR Congress convention to be held in Udupi on August 1.

Haveri, Jan 16: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday hinted at inducting 16 MLAs into the Cabinet which was due for expansion despite the fact that it was a difficult task.

Participating in a function of Choudayya Community here, he further said one should understand the difficulty faced to undertake cabinet expansion in the prevailing situation and whoever gives suggestion should understand the circumstances otherwise the statements would lead to confusion among the community and people of the state.

He stated that 'as many as 17 MLAs resigned to make me Chief Minister and now their community people want their leader to become Minister, it is very difficult to satisfy all of them'.

Kalaburagi, Feb 24: Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday alleged that dissatisfaction and unhappiness are rising among the local Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs and the party might soon witness large scale defection.

Addressing the media, Mr. Siddaramaiah said many of the BJP MLAs have openly expressed their disappointment and unhappiness with the BJPs high command and also with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's attitude towards them and they have said that they want to join the Congress at the earliest.

Bengaluru, Jul 13: Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday said that the state government should provide vitamin C drug, Ayush Ministry-certified immunity boosters and sanitisers to every household in the wake of the coronavirus spread.

"Karnataka government should provide vitamin C drug, Ayush Ministry-certified immunity boosters and sanitisers to every household to fight against COVID-19," Kumaraswamy told media.

The JDS leader further stated that "appropriate medication should be provided to those who are "symptomatic" by the Karnataka government and added that "by taking such measures the government can halt the spread of the virus."

If the government is not able to provide the health kit to everyone then at least they should give it to the BPL families, he added.

Kumaraswamy also stressed upon organising awareness campaigns about the coronavirus and use of supplements among the masses to prevent themselves from contracting the infection.

According to the Union Health Ministry, Karnataka has recorded 38,843 cases of COVID-19 to date.
