Job fair for rural youth and differently abled on Saturday

Mangalore, July 25: Shachi Technologies in association with NMAMIT will be organising a job fair for rural youth and differently abled at Nitte, Karkala near here on Saturday, July 28.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Wednesday Yatish Babu, Director, Shachi Technologies, said that large number of job aspirants from in and around Karkala, Mangalore and coastal Karnataka are expected to participate in this unique and special event of a job Mela slated as “SPOORTHI” “Because you can….”. The event would be held from 9am to 5pm.

He said that there have been formal studies to assess the growth and employment potential in India' formal private sector, however less attention has been given to the conditions and strategies to promote rapid expansion and job creation in the rural and informal sectors.

There is enormous scope of strengthening and provide growth and productivity in agriculture, farm incomes and so on and so forth.

“There have been constant efforts from the education sector to provide knowledge to the upcoming children and youth in the rural areas. We do have Nobel organizations offering specialized training to special children and youngsters who are differently abled with challenges like physical, hearing and speech”, he said.

“To consolidate on all these efforts, we need to provide a stable and secure employment in the rural areas so that the youth and children who have been imparted with knowledge from the schools and institutions can be put to use in their own regions and these youth can contribute to rural economy and generate significant growth in the areas of organization, health, technology and services”, he said.

The aspirants will be screened for technical, non-technical, non-technical, software and hardware, BPO job prospects. Entry is free for one and all with a privilege to the specially challenged citizens, he added.

Bengaluru, May 7: Karnataka Minister for Labour Shivaram Hebbar, on Thursday, ordered issuance of notice to employers who have not paid salary to the workers during lockdown period amid Coronavirus threat in the state.

The Ministry has also directed serving notice to those employers who have reduced the wages of the workers in April '20, official sources told UNI here.

State Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa had appealed to the employers not to retrench any employee from the job because of their failure to attend to work because of Coronavirus which is spreading like wildfire and since they have been asked to remain in the house.

Kalaburagi, Apr 20: With no COVID-19 case reported here on Sunday, the total number of virus-infected people in the district stood at 22.

While three persons have succumbed to the infection in the district so far, three others have been cured and discharged.

"No COVID-19 case was reported in Kalaburagi district today. Total 22 positive cases and 3 deaths have been reported in the district till date. Three persons have been cured," said District Magistrate B. Sharat.

Karnataka's total count of coronavirus patients has surged to 390, said the State Health Department on Sunday.

"Six new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in the State from 5 pm on Saturday till 5 pm on Sunday. Cumulatively, 390 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state," it said.

Bengaluru, May 8: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday held a meeting with opposition parties at his office here over COVID-19 situation in the state.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress leaders SR Patil and DK Shivakumar participated in the meeting. From Janata Dal (Secular), former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and HD Revanna were present.

"Congress legislative party leader Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar have arranged the Chief Minister to request the central government to announce a special package of Rs 50,000 crore to Karnataka to fight coronavirus and also special packages requested for small and medium scale industries," said Siddaramaiah's media secretary.

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa has announced a special package for those involved in leather works, especially those who work on the roadside.

The special package has been announced for cobblers and leather workers, who work on the roadside.
