Mangalore, August 1: Condemning the brutal attack on students who were celebrating a birthday party at Morning Mist Home-stay in the city last week, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Prathishthana held Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner NS Channappa Gowda and Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh responsible for the recurrence of such incidents.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, State President of Prathishthana Shivappa Renkadaguthu demanded the immediate transfer of DC and city police chief for their failure check illegal activities and moral policing.

At the same time he also condemned the westernisation of culture. He criticised the family members of some of the victims, who themselves reportedly encouraged them to consume alcohol.

Terming the city police's decision to book journalists for filming the homestay attack as an insult to the entire state, he implored State Home Minister R Ashok to look into the matter.

Mr Renkadaguthu lashed out at Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera for his remarks against RSS leader Kalladka Bhat during in Legislative Assembly.

It could be recalled here that raising the issue of homestay attack during a discussion in the Assembly on July 30, Mr Bangera had accused Kalladka Bhat of controlling the police in Dakshina Kannada.

Mr Renkadaguthu said that the remarks against Kalladka Bhat were indeed an insult to entire Dakshina Kannada district.

He further expressed his strong displeasure at Executive Director of Pilikula Nisargadhama J.R. Lobo, whom he blamed for the numerous incidents that have happened at Dr Shivram Karanth Biological Park.

Members of the Prathisthana Ananda G. Renkadaguthu and Madhu Koyyur were also present at the press conference.
