Fight against cyber-crime: YFN rally to reach Mangalore on Aug 7

Mangalore, August 3: Youth For Nation (YFN), a nation-wide organisation for youth, will be conducting a state-wide rally – 'Prathignya Yathre' from August 4, to fight against the menace of corruption and cyber-crime, said Ashwath Hegde, Chief Secretary of YFN, Mangalore, at a press meet here on Friday.

The rally will begin from 'Freedom Park' in Bangalore at 8 a.m. on that morning. Covering major cities like Tumkur, Dharwad, Mysore, Kundapur, Udupi, the rally will arrive in Mangalore on August 7 and convene near D.C.'s office at 4 p.m.

“We are conducting this rally with the intention of uniting all the youth in the state, and fighting unitedly against corruption in India. All the youth belonging to groups like ABVP, SFI, NSUI, JDS, BJP and others are wholeheartedly welcome to join the rally and support our cause”, he said.

The rally would assemble in Puttur on August 8 at 9 a.m. near Mahalingeshwara Temple, and students from nearby colleges are expected to take part. At the end of the rally, a memorandum signed by supporters would be handed over to the Chief Minister of Karnataka, the Prime Minister and the President of India, he said. He said that the rally would culminate in Mandya on August 9.

He said that YFN was an NGO formed by like-minded people that was being run from the past four years. “We conduct awareness programmes on various issues in schools and colleges, and also on platforms like social networking sites. YFN will be conducting a job fair – 'Jobs For Youth' in the coming month”, he added.

Ajith Bopaiyya, Secretary, and Sandesh Shetty, Joint Secretary of YFN, Mangalore, were also present at the press meet.

Bengaluru, May 10: Karnataka on Sunday reported 59 new cases of coronavirus, taking the total number of cases in the state to 848, informed state health department.
Out of the total number of cases, 422 people have been discharged and 31 have died due to the infection in the state.
The health department further informed that six COVID-19 patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

Bengaluru, May 21: Karnataka reported 116 fresh cases of coronavirus on Thursday, taking the state tally to 1578. 

So far, 570 people have been cured and discharged while 41 have succumbed to the virus, informed the state health department.

Out of the 116 cases, 71 have a history of inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.

Out of the 116 cases, 27 are from Udupi alone, 15 cases are reported from Mandya and 13 are from Hassan. Bengaluru Urban saw seven new cases.

New Delhi, Jul 28: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Sadananda Gowda on Monday said that India has proved that it is the "pharmacy of the world" in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking at a press conference here, Gowda said, "India is often referred to as 'the pharmacy of the world' and this has been proved true especially in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic when India continued to export critical life-saving medicines to the countries."

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandviya said that three bulk drug parks will be developed in the country in partnership with the states at Rs 3,000 crores.

"Three bulk drug parks will be developed in the country in partnership with the states at Rs 3,000 crores. Four medical device parks will also be developed with a government grant of Rs 100 crores for one park," Mandaviya said.
