Mangalore, August 8: The Mangalore branch of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), located at Arya Samaj Road, here, will organize 'Sri Krishna Janmashtami' festival on August 10 from 9 a.m. onwards at Devadiga Samaj Bhavan at Mannagudda, Mangalore, said ISKCON President Karunya Sagar Das, at a press meet.
There will be Darshan, Arati and Alankara Puja at 9 a.m., Rajbogh Arati at 12.30 p.m., Sandhya Arati at 5.45 p.m., 'Yoga for Happiness' Personality Development Session by Karunya Sagar Das between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Maha Abhisheka of Sri Krishna Balarama at 9 p.m., discourse on the appearance of Lord Krishna (Audio-visual) at 10.30 p.m. and Maha Mangala Arati with Sankirtana at 12 a.m., he said.
He said that the most attractive event of the day was 'Hari Nama Japa Yajna' wherein a mantapa would be created with 108 steps for visitors to chant. Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Channappa Gowda will inaugurate the Mantapa. Karnataka Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat will participate in the Maha Abhisheka at 9 p.m., he said.
Mr. Das said that visitors could offer prayers and pujas throughout the day. About 10,000 people are expected to attend, and meals will be served to all, he said.
