Mangalore, August 13: Mosques in the city are brimming with activity in the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.
Arrangements for Ei'tikaaf have been made in mosques for the benefit of people willing to sit through in prayer in the final days of the month.
Prayers have intensified in mosques with greater intensity among the devotees with regard to the search for Lailatul Qadr (night of power) too.
Iftar arrangements for people are being held as normal in various mosques of the city.
Bengaluru, Jul 15: Karnataka on Wednesday reported 3,176 new cases taking the total count of cases in the state to 47,253.
A total of 1,975 new cases were reported from the Bengaluru alone, the state's health department said.
The toll has gone up to 928 with 87 deaths reported today.
The total count of COVID-19 cases in the country is 9,36,181.
Hassan, Feb 26: A 35-year-old poachers died on the spot by his fellow man accidentally, mistaking him as animal at Yedikumari Kaginahere forest areas near Sakaleshpura in the district early hours Tuesday, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Harish.
The incident happened when ten poachers went hunting for wild animals in the Yedikumari Kaginahare forest areas.
Belagavi, Jul 19: In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman used a pushcart to take the body of her dead husband to the crematorium after she allegedly did not receive any help from relatives who suspected him to have died of Covid.
The woman and her son were seen pushing the body in the Athani thaluk of Belagavi.
The man had died two days ago at his residence and no family member apart from the close members attended the last rites due to the fear that he was COVID-19 positive.
It was later found that the deceased person was COVID-19 negative.
A total of 3,693 new COVID-19 positive cases and 115 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Friday, said the state health department.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state is presently at 55,115, including 33,205 active cases. While there are 20,757 recoveries, the death toll stands at 1,147.
