SDPI organises Ifthar get-together

Mangalore, August 13: The District unit of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) organised an ifthar get-together at Jam'iyyathul Falah auditorium here.

District President of SDPI Abdul Jaleel K presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, SDPI national representation committee member Yasir Hasan urged the youth to participate in politics. He said youth should strive to achieve social justice mentioned in constitution. “We all should unite under one umbrella for political reasons,” he opined.

Akram Hasan, State committee member of SDPI was present.

Akbar Ali, General Secretary welcomed the gathering while Secretary Ashraf Manchi proposed vote of thanks. Riyaz Ahmed compered the programme.

Bengaluru, Jun 23: Police have nabbed two foreign nationals who were drawing money from ATMs of various banks by using fake ATM cards after collecting details of the card including code while customers used to withdraw money.

Police on Tuesday said that the arrested were identified as Felix Kisiibo (25), Present address Kogilu, Yelahanka, Bengaluru Native address BUGOBERO Village, Khabutoola sub-county, Manafwa District, Uganda and Khairun Abbdulla (32), Present address Kogilu, Yelahanka, Bengaluru Native address House Uzini Zanzibar, Mkele urban, Tanzania.

The duo by inserting Skirmish machine into ATM used to collect details of ATM cardholders, balance and code and then by using fake ATM cards used to withdraw the money without the knowledge of customers.

Udupi, Mar 30: Karnataka Home Minister and Udupi district in-charge Basavaraj Bommai has urged citizens to stay indoors and help government prevent spread of Covid-19.

In a video released by the Minister on Monday, he said, ''Three patients have been cured and we are observing their situation. All the primary contacts of these patients have been quarantined.''

''In Dr TMA Pai Hospital a 100-bed COVID hospital has been set up and a 150-bed SDM hospital in Udyavara is ready to use as isolation facilities,'' he added.

Mysuru, Mar 3: Three leopard cubs were rescued by a team of Forest Department in Mysuru on Tuesday.

The cubs were found in a sugarcane field and came into notice of a farmer while cutting the sugarcane.

The villagers alerted the forest department which rescued the three cubs.
