Udupi, August 15: Railway Protection Force inspector, B. Satish Prabhu, working with the Special Intelligence Branch of South Central Railway has been awarded Indian Police Medal in appreciation of his meritorious service.
He is from Bailur in Karkala taluk.
Mr Prabhu had played an important role in detecting the Gautami Express sabotage in 1995. While on deputation with the CBI, he had been involved in many high-profile cases including the passport forgery case of Abu Salem and Monica Bedi.
He has also served as SI in Railway Protection Force. In his previous years of service, he was awarded two GM Awards and DG's insignia.
