Mangalore, August 20: Sri Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik has said that his outfit would carry out a survey to determine the total number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Karnataka.

Addressing media persons here on Monday Mr Muthalik said that Bangladeshi immigrants were responsible for the recent violence in the country in general and Assam in particular.

He said that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants should be identified and evicted from the country. "Though everybody knows that (these) immigrants are the main cause for the violence here, nobody is raising their voice. The "Mauni Baba" (Manmohan Singh) who is elected from Assam too has not spoken anything about identifying and sending (these) immigrants (back)," he said.

Questioning the silence of progressive thinkers and members of Komu Souhardha Vedike on this issue, Muthalik said there are about 30,000 such illegal immigrants from Bangladesh in various parts of Karnataka including the city. This matter will be discussed at the state level meeting and a survey carried out to identify them such Immigrants in Karnataka," he said.

Fans of Pakistani actor Veena Malik wanting to see her in Dirty Picture will be disappointed. Muthalik said SRS will oppose screening of Dirty Picture starring Veena Malik. "She is a Pakistani actor and we oppose her acting in the film. We are not against the picture but are against her acting in the film. Come what may, we will not allow screening the picture staring her. If they change the actress then we do not have any problem," Muthalik said.
