BJP is now conflict-free party: K S Eshwarappa

Bhatkal, August 24: Deputy Chief Minister and Bharathiya Janata Party state chief K S Eshwarapppa has said that his party would complete its tenure in Karnataka as all the internal conflicts and confusions of ruling party have been solved.

Addressing media persons after participating in BJP State Mahila Morcha Executive Committee meeting held at a hotel here on Friday, he said that the saffron party would once again come to power through next assembly elections.

“We have already held discussions with all the leaders of the party, including with those who were once identified as disgruntled”, he said adding that warning of strict action against disgruntled has also been issued by the party high command.

“We are sure that our party would bag more than 150 seats in next assembly elections. There is no future of Congress and JD(S) in the state”, he said.

He also lashed out at the Congress-led union government and accused it of showing step-motherly attitude towards Karnataka by not releasing draught relief funds in this critical juncture.

Bengaluru, May 12: The South Western Railway on Tuesday informed that a 'Shramik special train' has left Karnataka for Bihar carrying 1,428 migrants onboard.

The special train carrying migrants to Motihari, Bihar departed from Kabaka Puttur in Karnataka.

Passengers were observing social distancing norms during boarding.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had recently granted permission for movement of stranded citizens including migrants labourers, workers, students, tourists to return to their native towns.

As per the list provided by the Karnataka government, South Western Railway is arranging special trains. These special trains are being run from point to point with no stoppages en-route.

New Delhi, Feb 24: India has deeply appreciated the Senegal government's decision to extradite fugitive gangster Ravi Poojary to India, official sources said on Sunday.

Facilitation of transit provided by the Government of France has also been acknowledged, they said.

Ravi Prakash Poojary, accused of committing a number of serious offences including murder and extortion in multiple jurisdictions, was extradited from Senegal on Saturday.

The probe agencies have persistently pursued the case for his extradition with the authorities in Senegal. India had made a request with Senegal for his extradition in early 2019, sources said.

Poojary was associated with gangster Chhota Rajan, but he also worked for fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Mangaluru, Mar 1: Noted Konkani writer and theater personality Richard John Pais died on Sunday after a brief illness, family sources said.

He was 51. He is survived by wife and two children.

Known in literary circles as ‘RJP’, his short stories, satirical writings, and poems were very popular.
