Mangalore, August 24: Over two dozens of people sustained injuries in two separate bus mishaps occurred in two different parts of Dakshina Kannada district on Friday.
As many as 24 persons sustained injuries when a bus in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Chandramandala Ullanje, near Kinnigoli on Friday.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the bus tried to give side to a car.
The injured are Asha Ambalpady, Govinda Acharya Udupi, Sharada Udupi, Ashok Ucchil, Dhiresh Muloor, Usha, Abhinaya Horiyadka, Thilothame, Kalavathi Kaup, Sunanda Parkala, Vimala, Rukmini Hejamadi, Saritha Mulki, Vanitha padubidri, Narayana Kemthoor, Ramesh, Poornima Chelyaru, Meenakshi, Deepa Angaragudde, Amritha, Shakunthala Vamana and Dayananda. An 11-month old Niriksha had a miraculous escape in the incident.
In a separate incident a KSRTC bus plying from Uppinangady to Dharmasthala skidded off the road at Kuntalpalke near Belthangady.
