Foundation stone laid for 'Yenmark Wind Gate'

Mangalore, August 27: The foundation stone laying ceremony for 'Yenmark Wind Gate' residential apartment, the new project of Yenmark Builders, a popular name in the field of construction and development, was held in the city on Monday.

Former Mayor of Mangalore K. Ashraf presided over the programme and welcomed the gathering.

Qatar – based Nawaz Ahmed has purchased two flats in the 'Yenmark Wind Gate'. His father Abdul Razak Karnad paid over an advance on the occasion.

Mangaluru, May 9: Dakshina Kannada District Collector Sindhu B Roopesh on Friday held a meeting to discuss the precautionary measures to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the current situation in the district.

The meeting was attended by Member of Parliament and Karnakata BJP unit chief Nalin Kumar Kateel, Minister-in-charge of Dakshina Kannada Kota Srinivasa Poojary, MLA Vedavas Kamath and District Medical Officer Dr Ramachandra Bauri among others were present there.

Top officials of the police department, labour department officials and other concerned persons were also present in the meeting.

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

He was suffering from fever since the last few days and today his swab results came out positive.

He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city and his condition is stated to be stable.

Mangaluru, May 2:  Fishermen in the coastal districts fear that the fishing season ending on May 31 every year might be rescheduled early this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement department of fisheries on sturday said fishing season is closed for 61 days every year before the arrival of the monsoon.

As per the data with the Fisheries Department, this year the number of fishes caught has set a record.
