Udupi, September 7: K. Raghupati Bhat, Udupi MLA, received a threat call on his cellphone here on September 5.
The police said on Thursday that Mr. Bhat had filed a complaint stating that when he was on his way home at Ambagilu, he received a threat call at 4.45 p.m. “I was near Peramapalli house near Ambagailu on September 5, when I received a call on my mobile phone from an unknown person. He not only threatened and abused me, but also demanded for money.” he said in complaint.
A case had been registered at the Udupi town police station, the police said. Further investigations were on, the police said. Superintendent of Police M.B. Boralingaiah said that the caller had spoken to Mr. Bhat in Hindi. The police had some definite clues, Mr. Boralingaiah said.
