Mangalore, September 17: The foundation stone laying ceremony for 'Plama Crest', the new project of Plama Developers Ltd was held at Suratkal near here on Monday September 17.

The foundation stone was laid by the Chairman of Mahabaleshwar Promoters & Developers K C Naik, with the Mangalore Mayor Gulzar Banu and the Chairman of Plama Developers P M A Razzak.

K C Naik congratulated Plama Chairman for successfully conducting Credai statecon 2012.

Rohan Monteiro, MD, Property Infratech Pvt Ltd; Kavitha Sunil, Kunil Kumar, Fathima Jenifer, Arun Kumar and Canute Fernandes were also present.

Mangaluru: 'ABVP holding rallies, meetings, distribute booklets on CAA'

Mangaluru, Jan 16: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is holding rallies and meetings and distributing booklets across the country in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, said ABVP National Secretary Harsha Narayan here on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons, he said that the CAA, which provides citizenship to Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Christians persecuted in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, was among the things that the ABVP was fighting for.

5 Covid Day Care Centres with 870 beds opened in Udupi

Udupi, Jul 20: Five COVID Day Care Centres have been opened here on Monday with combined 870 bed for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.

The Centres are set up at Karkala (1), Udupi (3) and Kundapura (1). Presently more than 100 patients are being treated in these Centres.

These Centres have been opened in the wake of high incidences of Covid-19 cases in the district. They are set up for asymptomatic patients who do not wish to be treated at home.

8 returnees from Gujarat test covid-19 positive in 'green zone' Shivamogga

Shivamogga, May 10: Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa on Sunday informed that eight people who returned to the state from Gujarat have tested positive for COVID-19 in Shivamogga district.

Shivamogga district is under the green zone category.

"Eight people who have returned from Ahmedabad, Gujarat have tested positive for COVID-19 in Shivamogga," said Eshwarappa.

Last week, the district administration had asked shopkeepers to open their shops on alternate days in order to avoid crowding.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state has so far 794 confirmed COVID-19 cases which include 386 cured or discharged cases and 30 deaths.
