Mangalore, September 18: The district unit of the BJP has expressed support for the nationwide 'bundh' call given by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on September 20 against the diesel price hike by UPA government.
Addressing media persons at the BJP office in Mangalore on Tuesday, Padmanabha Kottary, President, District Unit of the party, said that owing to the increase in diesel prices, rates of everyday commodities have also shot up. The Central Government has lost control over oil companies, Mr. Kottary said.
He also said that by encouraging Foreign Direct Investment, the central government is allowing foreign companies to establish monopoly over Indian trade.
Mr. Kottary urged the people of the district to express support to the bundh call and maintain peace.
