Mangalore, September 25: Journalist Gowri Lankesh and communal harmony activist K L Ashok have been granted bail by local court in Mangalore in anti-communalism remarks case.
The duo appeared before the JMFC Court, moved a pail application and obtained bail on Monday.
The Mangalore city police had slapped cases against the duo for reportedly making provocative remarks during a protest against homestay attack in the city in August.
They were booked under IPC section 153 A (promoting enmity among classes). The cases were registered following a complaint lodged by Deepak, a Hindutva activist at Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) Police Station.
