Launch of Diploma Education in Arabic to mark inauguration of CCA

Mangalore, September 26: The inaugural function of The Campus Career Academy and launching of Diploma Education in Arabic language initiated by city based Hidaya-Mesco Arabic Academy for female teachers will held in Mangalore on Friday.

 

Announcing this at a press meet, here, on Wednesday, director of the Academy Umar U H said that the CCA was introducing training programme in competitive exams with the intention of helping students gain soft skills.

 

Students in professional colleges these days get good ranks, but lag behind in obtaining jobs as they lack soft skills. The idea is to create awareness about this, and help them understand how government jobs are safer and more secure than jobs in private companies, he said.

 

He said that the course in Arabic language would be held for a duration of eight months at the cost of Rs 15,000. Currently, the course is only for female teachers, and each batch will consist of 30 members, he said.

 

The competitive exam training programme and Arabic course will be launched on the same day at 4 pm to mark the formal inauguration of the CCA at Al Rahaba Plaza, Near State Bank in Mangalore.

 

It will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof T C Shivashankara Murthy, while the computer lab and library will be inaugurated by Founder-Chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges S Ganesh Rao. The Arabic language training programme will be launched by Director of MESCO Institution Hyderabad Dr Mohammed Iftekharuddin. Former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut and Kannur University Prof M Abdudurrahman will be presiding over the programme.

 

Convener of Hidaya Foundation, Mangalore City Unit Imtiyaz G A, Administrative officer Abid Asghar, Asif Deals and Maqbool Ahmed were present at the press meet.

Mangaluru, Jan 8: In an operation, forest officials of Puttur has arrested two persons as many elephant tusks at Puduvettu in Belathangadi taluk of Dakshina Kannada.

Forest officials said on Wednesday the accused nabbed last night were identified as PK Dinesh from Madikeri and V Kumar from Hassan district.

Both were caught while trying to sell tusks the value of which was estimated to be lakhs.

Bengaluru, May 26: Unknown miscreants have set ablaze 30-40 migrant labourers hutments in Bengaluru east, prompting police to take suo motu cognizance, an official said on Tuesday.

"As many as 30-40 migrant labourers' hutments have been set ablaze by unknown miscreants at Kacharakanahallin in KG Halli, we have taken suo motu cognizance of the crime," said a police official to media.

Police are investigating the arson invoking IPC Sections 143, 147, 188, 436, 123, 504, 506 and others.

"There was no loss of life in the arson as the migrant labourers were away at their hometowns because of COVID lockdown," said the official.

The labourers came from different parts of Karnataka to eke out a living and were living in those huts near the Rama Temple in KG Halli.

Mangalore, Mar 18: The Dakshina Kannada District Home Guards felicitated social activist and Executive Director of Centre for Integrated Learning, Sachitha Nandagopal at the Home Guards district office to mark the International Women's Day recently.

She was recognised for her achievements and contributions to the society in the field of education, culture and mental health.

Sachitha Nandagopal, a former Head of Department of Journalism at Besant Women's College and Principal of CMR Post Graduate Centre for Media Studies, Bangalore, is the Co-Founder of Centre for Integrated Learning, Mangalore which is an NGO working in the field of alternative education, adding value to the present education system. As a Facilitator in Dance Movement Therapy, she has founded Anveshanam - Centre for Mindfulness and Emotional Wellbeing, an organisation dedicated to addressing mental health issues.

She was honoured by District Commandant, Dakshina Kannada Home Guards, Dr. Muralimohan Chunthar. Senior Home Guard Ramesh Bhandary, Diwakar, Mahesh and lady personnel of Home Guards were present on the occasion.
