Diploma Education in Arabic Language classes begin

Mangalore, October 9: Classes for the recently inaugurated course of Diploma Education in Arabic Language (DEAL) in the city were formally launched by head of Mangalore Unity Ilm Centre Moulana Abdussalam on Monday.

 

The 8-month course for female Arabic teachers has been initiated by city-based Hidaya – Mesco Arabic Academy, a wing of Hidaya Foundation, in collaboration with The Campus Career Academy (CCA) of Mangalore.

 

Among those who were present were member of Riyadh-unit of Hidaya Foundation Salih Sayyed, administrator of Mangalore-unit Abid Asgar, convenor of executive committee G Mohammed Haneef, treasurer F M Basheer, members Zainul Abid, Saif Sultan, patron Najmuddin Assadi, members of women wing Khurshida Haroon, Tahira, Maimuna and Salma.

 

Director of CCA Umar U H welcomed and compered the programme.

 

Since there is a need for Arabic teachers in primary and high schools, there is a guarantee of jobs for those completing this course. In the past three years, 45 women from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Davanagere have successfully completed the course from Hidaya-Mesco Arabic Academy, and have been working as Arabic teachers in various schools in the district.

 

The various subjects which will be taught are knowledge of Arabic alphabet, writing, pronunciation (Tajveed), grammar, teaching method, children's psychology, computer training, English language skill and personality evolution. The maximum number of students that can be enrolled for the course are 30.

New Delhi, Jun 5: Congress has named Mallikarjun Kharge as its candidate for ensuing biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.

Party interim president Sonia Gandhi approved Kharge's candidature on Friday, according to a Congress release by general secretary Mukul Wasnik.

The elections to fill the pending 18 Rajya Sabha seats from seven states will be held on June 19.

Mangaluru, May 15: In a shocking development, five residents of Udupi district, who recently came from United Arab Emirates today tested positive for covid-19.

As many as 49 passengers among over 175 repatriates who were brought from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport on May 12 were from Udupi district.

Hence they were quarantined in Udupi district and their throat swabs were sent for testing on the same day. Today, five of them obtained positive report. They were today shifted to TMA Pai covid-hospital from their hotel rooms.

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Monday announced to enhance surveillance along the coastline of Karnataka to strengthen security.

It has tasked its hovercraft in New Mangalore, and high-speed patrol vessels and interceptor boats along the coastline for ensuring foolproof security of the uninhabited islands, Deputy Inspector General S B Venkatesh, Commander, Coast Guard, Karnataka, said in a release today.

The amphibious hovercraft have been deployed for near to coast patrol, to facilitate smooth execution of search and rescue operations and security cover over land and riverine route. Please log in to get detailed story.
