Fr Muller College hosts homoeopathic conference

Mangalore, October 13: A two-day national homoeopathic conference on Paediatric Health Care was inaugurated in Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College in the city on Saturday.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Guest of Honour Dr S.K. Nanda, Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy expressed the need for systematic approach in management of Paediatric cases. As Homoeopathic medical science has shown a definite scope in managing various Paediatric health problems, it is time to take on the challenges, he added.

 

Rev. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Director, FMCI, presided over the function.  He stressed on need for a collaborative approach of various systems in the management of Paediatric cases.

 

Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College explained relevance of the theme “Paediatric Health Care” in this century.  He also pointed out at the responsibility of health care professionals in dealing Paediatric cases. Dr Srinath Rao, Principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, welcomed the delegates and Dr Sunny Mathew, Organizing Secretary delivered vote of thanks.

 

The two days seminar would focus on Paediatric Health Care with the help of eminent Resource persons namely, Dr Praful Barvalia, Dr Parinaz Humranwala and Dr K. Varadaraj Shenoy.

Udupi, July 18 A 15-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution after he came in contact with a live wire last evening near his house at Laxminagar under the limits of Malpe police station in Udupi. 

The deceased has been identified as Gautham (15), son of Manjunath Naiak, a resident of Laxminagar.  

Police sources said, the electrocution occurred while he was lifting a pump set from the well at his neighbour’s house. He died on the spot. 

A case has been registered at Malpe Police Station and investigation is on.

Gautham had recently appeared for SSLC examinations.

Bengaluru, Mar 24: Underlining the seriousness of the coronavirus, which is spreading like wildfire in Karnataka, renowned Heart Surgeon and founder of Narayana Hrudayalaya Dr Devi Shetty on Tuesday predicted that Karnataka alone will have more than 80,000 people affected with the dreaded killer disease COVID-19 if people fail to protect themselves.

He urged the people to cooperate with the Government in preventing its further spread and immediately treat those who are affected.

Dr Shetty, urging the people to remain indoors and not to venture out, said those who are affected should not come out and remain in isolation even in their houses and take all precautions advised by doctors.

He said if 80,000 people in the state were affected, more than 20,000 need to be admitted to Hospital for treatment.

"More than 2000 affected need to be kept under ventilation and it requires more infrastructure in the hospitals," he said.

Mangaluru, May 23: Domestic flight services will resume from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) from May 25 as per the instructions of Union Civil Aviation Ministry. Six Indigo and SpiceJet flights will be operated from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai.

Air-India is yet to finalise its schedule, airport sources said. Three Indigo flights will depart from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai and three flights of SpiceJet will leave for Bengaluru and Mumbai on May 25.

SpiceJet flight will take off from Bengaluru to Mangaluru at 8.30 am and7 pm while Indigo will take off from Mangaluru to Bengaluru at 5.55 pm. SpiceJet flight will take off from Mangaluru at 10.20 am and 9.35 pm while Indigo will depart at 7.30 pm.

From Mumbai, Spice Jet flight will take off at 7.05 am and Indigo at 9.30 am. The Mangaluru-Mumbai SpiceJet flight will take off at 9.05 am and Indigo at 11.40 am. Indigo flight will depart from Chennai to Mangaluru at 5.45 pm and from Mangaluru to Chennai at 8.05 am.
