Bhatkal, October 17: An incident of an attempted assault on Moulana Khwaja Muhiddin Akrami Madani Nadvi, Qazi of Markazi Khalifa Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, Bhatkal, has been reported.

Other cases were also booked against him in the past and he is a man with criminal background, it is learnt. Although I kept telling him that I had not given any false witness against him, he kept holding and abusing me. Sensing the situation getting tense, the locals there gathered and started assaulting him. The police who then arrived at the spot took him along to the station”, he said.

When locals gathered at the station demanding action against Armaar, senior police officer Sudhir Kumar Reddy and others pacified the agiatating crowd and assured apt action.

SM Syed Parvez, Vice President, Majlis-e-Islaah-o-Tanzeem, Muhiddin Althaf Kharoori, Chief Secretary of Tanzeem, Mira Siddiqa, Abdul Raqib MJ, Muhammad Sadiq Matta, Imtiyaz Udyavar, Irshad Gawai, Sanaullah Gawai, and other citizens of Bhatkal also visited the police station and urged police to take action against him.
