
Mangalore, October 18: A robber broke into a house in the city, tied up a woman inside and made off with cash and valuables, all in broad daylight.
The robbery took place at a house 'Adishakthi', owned by one Appaji, situated on the road leading to ESI Hospital at 3rd cross in Lower Bendoor, here.
Having tied the maid named Lalita to a window, the robber took her silver earrings, apart from emptying the cupboard of jewellery and Rs 65,000 in cash. The total loss is estimated up to Rs 2.15 lakh.
According to the complaint logged at Kadri police station, a dark-skinned 35-year old man forcefully entered the house and tied Lalita who was alone with a baby at the time.
