Dist. BJP firmly backs C T Ravi over land grab charges

Mangalore, October 31: Ruling out the land grab charges on Dakshina Kannada district in-charge and higher education minister C T Ravi, leaders of BJP district committee said that the party and its cadres are firmly behind him, and would support and defend him against all labeled charges or allegations.

 

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday MLC and BJP spokesperson Monappa Bhandary condemned Congress leader and former MLA Vijayakumar Shetty's allegations against that Ravi had acquired 150 acres of forest land near Marle village in Chikmagalur district illegally. “Mr Shetty's allegations against Ravi are childish,” he said.

 

"Mr Shetty, who has been sidelined in Congress has made allegation only to secure a seat in the upcoming election. Neither Ravi, nor BJP is afraid of the Congress leader's threat of holding black flag protest against Ravi. Let Vijayakumar Shetty keep in mind a fact that BJP has the experience of holding and countering protests," Mr Bhandary said.

 

He also dared AICC president Sonia Gandhi to make public the detailed accounts on all scams including 2G spectrum, Commonwealth Games, Coalgate, Adarsh Society, rice import and others.

Bengaluru, Apr 22: With seven more people tested positive for COVID-19, the total number of cases now stands at 425 as of date in Karnataka, informed state health department on Wednesday.

Out of the total COVID-19 cases, 17 people have died and 129 have been discharged.
These seven new cases came to light in the last 24 hours.

With 1383 more cases and 50 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, India's total number of positive COVID-19 cases stands at 19,984, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
