Vittla, October 31: In the wake of rise in the number of theft cases reported in the Vittla police station limits, police have requested the general public to remain alert.
Addressing a press meet at Vittla police station on Tuesday, Sub Inspector Madhava Kudlu said that necessary actions would be taken to prevent instances of theft in the region.
Talking at length, he explained the measures that would be undertaken to tackle crime, such as distributing pamphlets to the public containing 109 safety and security precautions, along with relating tips and guidelines to avoid burglaries, car theft, robberies and chain-snatching during normal circumstances and while traveling.
He said that awareness would also be disseminated through religious heads in Masjids and temples along with broadcast through loudspeakers in the region.
Along with taking precautions and following guidelines, the public should also co-operate with the police, he said.
