Mangalore, November 1: G T Radhakrishnan, Joint General Manager of Coimbatore Airport has taken over as the new Director of the Mangalore International Airport on November 1.
Mr Radhakrishnan, a native of Ananthpura in Andhra Pradesh succeeds M R Vasudev who retired on October 31.
A graduate in B.Tech (Civil), Mr Radhakrishnan who joined as Manager in engineering department at Airport Authority of India (AAI) in 1993, supervised the expansion of runway at Calicut Airport.
He was also a part of the new terminal building and runway projects at Mangalore Airport. He was the planning chief.
In 2010, he received 'Best Engineer Award' for his contribution in project and planning of New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB).
