Dattatreya curse' reason for BJP's internal conflict: Muthalik

Chikmagalur, November 4: The internal conflicts, dissidence and chaos in BJP is a result of the curse of Dattatreya, Pramod Muthalik, Chief of Sri Rama Sene, has said.

Four years ago, 'Datta' sandals were taken off and kept in the district treasury in the pretext of repair of cave in Dattapeetha. Ever since, no pooja of 'Datta' sandals has taken place which and hence the BJP government is undergoing the wrath of Dattatreya, he said.

BJP had promised that if voted to power, it will convert Dattapeetha into a Hindu place of worship. But after coming to power, they forgot their promise, he said.

The BJP, which had not made any effort in reinstating the 'Datta' sandals to its original place, is now trying to do so with elections in mind. The reinstatement has not been done as per the ritualistic norms. The government must arrange for poojas in the place, he said.

Hassan, Feb 9: Accusing the Centre for treating Karnataka as its enemy Former Minister and Congress leader UT Khader on Saturday said that the state did not get support from the Centre on the Mahadayi issue and flood relief and even the Union Budget.

Speaking to the media here, he said that the state has elected 25 BJP Lok Sabha members. Three from the state were Ministers in the Union Cabinet and another MP has been appointed president of the party’s state unit.

'None of them have spoken about the injustice done to the state in the budget. The budget document announced Rs 18,600 crore for the suburban railway in Bengaluru. But, ultimately the amount earmarked for the project is only Rs 1 crore. How can any BJP leader justify this?', the Congress leader wondered.

Bengaluru, Feb 16: The Central Crime Branch has recovered blank firearms from Saddaguntepalya Police Station limits.

As of now, two persons have been arrested in this regard. They have been identified as Mohd Junaid and Mohd Tabrez. The officials have recovered 28 blank firearms and 76 blank bullets.

"The two accused -- without having any license -- were in possession of these huge number of weapons," Sandeep Patil, Joint CP, Crime, told media.

As per the preliminary investigation, there has been no record of such cases in Bengaluru. "But we are verifying if other states have any (such) case," added the Joint CP

According to investigations, it was noted that the weapons were purchased from Mumbai at an estimated cost of Rs 1 lakh per weapon.

Further investigation is currently underway.

Bengaluru, Mar 15: Karnataka government has said that as of now six cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state, including one person who died.

"Till date six COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state including one death. The 5 Coronavirus positive cases are in isolation at the designated hospital in Bengaluru," the Karnataka government said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Health Department of Karnataka on Sunday said that all the family members and other contacts of the 76-year-old man who died of coronavirus in Kalaburagi are being monitored closely.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that India's tally in the number of positive cases for coronavirus has reached 107 on Sunday.
