Police sources said that enmity between the devotees of two separate Dargahs led to the clash.
They said that at around 4 p.m. two groups of men were embroiled in a heated argument after one group, supposedly from a smaller Dargah nearby, insulted those headed towards Ullal Dargah.
A police official said this was because Ullal Dargah had stopped funding for the smaller Dargah because of ideological differences.
The argument turned violent and 10 men were admitted with minor injuries to a hospital in Thokottu.
“Most are faking their injuries to file complaints against the other group,” said the official.
