Mangalore, November 6: Youth Congress of Mangalore Assembly constituency held a protest against BJP National President Nitin Gadkari's statement comparing Swami Vivekananda to Dawood Ibrahim and demanded that he be deported from the country.
Speaking on the occasion, U T Khader, MLA, said that by comparing Swami Vivekananda to “traitor” Dawood Ibrahim, Mr. Gadkari has proved that he too is a “traitor”.
Sadashiva Ulllal, another Congress leader demanded that Gadkari be deported from the country.
Mamatha Gatty, President of Mahila Congress, said that Mr. Gadkari's statement has made women and youth of the country hang their heads in shame.
Dinesh Rai, Councillor, in his address questioned as to why Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is silent on Mr.Gadkari's statement, when he is otherwise busy speaking about patriotism and culture.
Siraj Kinya, President, Mangalore Youth Congress, said that public awareness about Mr. Gadkari's anti-national statement would be held in every village of the constituency.
