Dr. Kaup Mohamed bags US University Pin Award

Udupi, November 11: Dr. Kaup Mohamed, the Dean and Director of the London American City College who hails from Kaup, Udupi District has been presented with the Pin Award from the Madonna University's President's Cabinet in recognition of his contribution to international education and e-learning.

The Pin Award was presented by Dr. Sister Rose Marie Kujawa, the President of the Madonna University at the University's Campus at Livonia, Michigan, USA.

Dr. Kaup has also been presented with two prestigious international awards namely the '2012 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century Award' and 'the Medal of Honor' from the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England for his outstanding contribution in the field of higher education especially in Management, Operations and Business areas.

Dr. Kaup has spent his whole life in academics, education and research. He has been providing e-support to the students in the use of e-learning facility, development of the academic portfolios and alumnae activities in association with the Madonna University.

Dr. Kaup has published several scholarly research articles and a thesis in strategic Management area and other allied areas of management. Dr. Kaup has visited several countries namely USA, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Singapore, Macedonia, Germany, Turkey, etc. for delivering his lectures. Dr. Kaup has won several national and international awards. His current area of research interest is in Management, Business Strategies, Operations & Production Management, Quality Management, CRM, Consumer Protection Law, Creative Problem Solving – A Total Systems Approach, Decision Making, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Project Management, Marketing, Strategies etc.

Bengaluru, May 8: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday held a meeting with opposition parties at his office here over COVID-19 situation in the state.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress leaders SR Patil and DK Shivakumar participated in the meeting. From Janata Dal (Secular), former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and HD Revanna were present.

"Congress legislative party leader Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar have arranged the Chief Minister to request the central government to announce a special package of Rs 50,000 crore to Karnataka to fight coronavirus and also special packages requested for small and medium scale industries," said Siddaramaiah's media secretary.

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa has announced a special package for those involved in leather works, especially those who work on the roadside.

The special package has been announced for cobblers and leather workers, who work on the roadside.

Bengaluru, Jul 19: A total of 4,120 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Karnataka on Sunday, taking the total number of 63,772 in the state, informed the state's health department.

Out of the total cases reported in the last 24 hours, 2,156 were reported from Bengaluru.
The total figure includes 39,370 active cases, 23,065 recoveries, and 91 deaths.

"Karnataka crossed the 10-lakh-tests milestone today. So far, we conducted 10,20,830 tests across 88 labs in the state and 35,834 tests today," Minister for Medical Education of Karnataka tweeted on Sunday.

New Delhi, Jan 2: India on Sunday reported the second case of novel coronavirus with a person from Kerala with a travel history to China testing positive, officials said.

"The patient has tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in isolation in a hospital," the health ministry said.

The patient is stable and is being closely monitored, it said.

India's first novel coronavirus case in India was also reported from Kerala with a student testing positive.
