Kasargod, November 14: Worms were reportedly found in a local brand chocolate bought from a bakery at Melparamba here on Tuesday.
The worms were noticed after Fasal Rahman's two-year-old son vomited after consuming the chocolate.
The wrapper did not bear the details of the manufacturer or the dates of manufacture and expiry.
The chocolate, branded Flashbag, was distributed by someone in Tirur, Malappuram, M.T. Anup Kumar, Food Inspector, Kasaragod Circle, said.
He said chocolates with nuts as an ingredient were more likely to be infested by worms. The food safety Act stipulated that the shop-owner quote the 14-digit number, issued with the licence, in all its invoice, Mr. Kumar said.
