Mangalore, November 14: Mangalore Tahsildar Ravichandra Nayak and Additional Deputy Commissioner Dayanad have been imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively for delaying in providing information to the petitioner by over two months.
The orders of fine imposition were issued by Karnataka Information Commission.
In the first case, the Tahasildar provided the information on May 4, 2012, which was sought on October 14, 2011.
In the second case, Additional Deputy Commissioner provided the information on May 4, 2012 which was sought on July 27, 2011.
In both the cases, the Commission imposed a fine under Section 20 of the RTI Act, 2005 and directed the officers to pay amount either in a single lump to Government Treasury or in two installments by way of deducting from their salary payable in October and November.
