Three winning entries in the competition were given cash prizes along with certificates and dolls. Six children received congratulatory prizes, while 30 others also given gifts.
The chief guest for the programme president of SCDCC Bank M N Rajendra Kumar was thrilled to be among kids. Away from the world of transactions, he openly praised the glory and laughter of children. He lauded the organisers for having arranged such a competition which captured their carefree spirit.
We have a lot to learn from the little ones. We can identify how they utilise opportunities and come forward, he said, illustrating that children were at times smarter than grown-ups. He said that it was good to see parents, photographers and sponsors taking active part in the competition.
Mukund Kamath of Ideal Ice Creams also spoke on the occasion. Dermatologist Dr Gatha Upadhya and artist Permude Mohan Kumar shared their experiences as judges in the competition.
Resident editor of Vijaya Karnataka U K Kumaranath welcomed the gathering and made introductory remarks. Senior correspondent B Ravindra Shetty compered the programme. Principal correspondent Mohammed Arif Padubidri proposed a vote of thanks.
