Mangalore, November 22: Sri Ram Sena has demanded Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister C T Ravi to take part in Datta Mala abhiyan rituals without fail.

Spokesperson of Sena Madhukar Mudradi told media persons here that if Mr Ravi believes in the true Hindu principles and if his fight for the cause of Datta Peeta is true, then he too should participate in the abhiyan organised by Sena, on November 25.

“Ravi had come to power using the issue of Datta Paduke. Now, he has been stating that he has made efforts to place Datta Paduke, at the Peeta, for the public darshan. However, Datta Paduke was placed in the Peeta, owing to the efforts of Sri Ram Sena, which had filed PIL in the High Court,” he said.

“C T Ravi had used the issue of Datta Peeta to come to power. He has denotified acres of land and has increased his wealth,” he alleged.

He said the State government should appoint Hindu priest and install the statue of Dattatreya at the Peeta.

He also urged the State government to provide facilities for the Ayyappa devotees who visit Shabarimale, during January. The government should provide free bus facility, just like the way it subsidises the travel cost of Haj pilgrims.

At least 10 buses should be provided to the devotees, from each district.

Mudradi has also urged the authorities to hand over the case on rape and murder of Saujanya, at Ujire, to CBI to probe. “Several rape and murder cases have taken place in Dakshina Kannada. However, none of the real culprits have been punished so far. A few intellectuals are trying to bury Saujanya's case. The arrest of a mentally sick person in the case has made us suspecious over the issue. The police should consider the case seriously and try to provide justice to the family of the victims,” he added.

Like Kasab, even Afzal Guru should be hanged in the country, he added.

I am her son and I returned from Dubai on FEBRUARY 13, not March 16. What fake source are you referring to?

Bengaluru, May 31: In spite of opposition, chief minister BS Yediyurappa has appointed his former personal assistant and maternal grandnephew NR Santosh as his political secretary.

Santosh is the fourth political secretary to the CM besides SR Vishwanath, MP Renukacharya and Shankaranna Munavalli.

Santosh was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap Vinay NS, personal assistant of BJP leader KS Eshwarappa in 2017. He's also facing attempt to murder and dowry harassment charges.

The 30-year-old had fallen out with the CM's younger son BY Vijayendra soon after the BJP came to power and had been reportedly asked to keep away from him. He had identified with some MLAs who were up against the CM.

It's said the appointment was made to send out a message to the rivals after some MLAs launched a renewed campaign against Yediyurappa over a dinner meeting at BJP MLA Umesh V Katti's house.

Though Yediyurappa was not keen, sources said Santosh brought pressure from RSS and some BJP leaders, whose help he had sought to reunite with the family.

Santosh from Tumakuru is the son of the CM's sister's daughter. He was Yediyurappa's Man Friday and his job was confined to ensuring he took his medicines on time.
