Indiscipline in BJP, admits DVS

Puttur, November 23: Although BJP has always been touted as the 'party with discipline', there has been a decline in disciplinary values in the last three years. It was inevitable in the best interest of the party. But in future the party will not tolerate any indiscipline, said DV Sadananda Gowda, Former Chief Minister.

Speaking to mediapersons in Puttur on Thursday, Mr. Gowda said that the party will not compromise on discipline and anti-party activities even if it means losing power.

Conflicts within the party have been sorted out. Action is being taken against those guilty. In other parties, there are more internal conflicts compared to the BJP and hence people will re-elect BJP to power in the upcoming Assembly elections, Mr.Gowda said.

The Former Chief Minister said that at present no one from the BJP camp has moved to KJP. Even if some one does and then wishes to return to the BJP based on its ideology and values, he will be welcomed, he said.

About contesting for Assembly elections, Mr. Gowda said on the occasion that he has not decided on it as yet. He is willing to contest from Puttur if the party high command asks him to, he said.

On the delay in Mani-Sampaje road work, Mr. Gowda said that by April 2013, the work is expected to end and that it will be made operational by May.

Bengaluru, Mar 1: Bengaluru Police has rescued six women and arrested two people after a raid on a spa, allegedly operating illegally, in the city's HSR layout area.

"Of the women rescued three are from Thailand and the other three are from North-Eastern states," said a statement from the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Women Protection Wing.

The raid was carried out on Saturday night and the police have arrested two people, while the owner of the spa is absconding.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Peter Sunawar and Rajkumar Radhakrishna Mishra. Further investigation is underway in the case.

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 2: The twin coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi witnessed sporadic movement of vehicles and relatively less commercial activities today in spite of the withdrawal of ‘Sunday lockdown’ by the state government. 

After the central government announced guidelines under Unlock 3.0, the Karnataka government has removed the complete lockdown concept on Sundays and done away with the night curfews too. So from today (August 2), there will be no lockdown on Sundays.

KSRTC operated its buses as usually. However, compared to other days, today the number of private and city buses on the roads in Dakshina Kannada was limited. 

In Udupi, city buses remained off the roads as the number of passengers was less. However, KSRTC and NARM buses were seen transporting passengers.

In containment zones ban on movement of people will continue till August 31 in Udupi. The Santhekatte market used to function on Saturdays, as there was Sunday lockdown on earlier Sundays. Now the market will be open on Sundays only.

Bengaluru, Jan 5: BJP leader and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa once again blamed the Congress of creating 'confusion' among the Muslim community over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act-2019 while launching a door to door campaign to dispel such rumors.

Yediyurappa was on a door-to-door campaign to make people aware of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and to allay their fears.

"Unnecessarily, the members of Congress are creating confusion among the Muslim community. I assure you that not a single Muslim will be affected because of CAA," said B. S. Yediyurappa.

"Almost all previous Prime Ministers have supported it, now Congress is creating a problem so as to create confusion among Muslims. That's why we are out on the door-to-door campaign," he said.

The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, seeks to grant Indian citizenship to Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
