Mangalore, November 25: The statewide mobile jatha of Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM) creating awareness among people about the maladministration of BJP government in the state and Congress led central government, reached Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangalore, K Nagaraj, Karnataka State Secretriat Member, CPI(M) slammed both the state as well as the central government for their corruption taints.

“The BJP government in Karnataka has indulged in widespread corruption. It is in such a pathetic situation that it is difficult to predict if it would remain in power by December end. Ministers, MLAs and MPs of the party have only been busy with resort politics rather than addressing the problems of people. BJP's ministers have looted the iron ore resources of the state and minted crores. Ministers in the BJP government are real estate dealers in the guise of public servants. All they have done is grab lands from the poor”, he said.

Slamming the Congress in the same breath, Mr. Nagaraj said that the iron ore loot had begun during the tenure of SM Krishna itself. The corruption that the Congress led UPA government has engaged in is multiple times more than the state government, he said. Through policies such as FDI, the Congress led government at the centre is allowing foreign capitalist powers to call the shots and decide the nation's destiny, he said.

The jatha began at Ramadurga in Belgaum on Novemvber 18 and will proceed to different other cities and culminate its journey at Bangalore on December 3. A similar jatha was flagged off from Bidar which will also join this jatha in Bangalore on December 3.

CPI (M) leaders B Madhava, Muneer Katipalla, Sunil Kumar Bajal, were present among others.
