Mangalore, December 3: A 40-year-old man, who had been arrested on charges of attempting to murder three girls including his two daughters, has been remanded to judicial custody.
Gangayya Gowda, a resident of Arkepadavu near here had allegedly attempted to murder his daughters, Hemalatha, Sunitha and their friend Pooja by feeding bananas mixed with glass powder on Thursday.
When the victims started bleeding in the mouth, neighbours admitted them to a hospital.
Bajpe police managed to arrest the accused on Saturday. The accused works at a laterite quarry and was a habitual drinker. It is learnt that he attempted to kill the girls, who had advised him to stop consuming alcohol.
