Mangalore, December 7: A new-born was found abandoned between two railway tracks at Central Railway Station in the city early on Friday morning.
The male child has been sent to the Lady Gocshen Hospital for treatment.
The wailing of the child drew attention of Abdul Razzak, an employee at Railway parcel unit, when he was carrying out his duty at a train in the morning. He found the abandoned child lying on between the tracks.
The baby's umbilical cord and blood on his tiny body, suggested that his mother had just delivered him.
It is assumed that the baby's mother might have boarded Parashuram Express train which left for Kasargod at 4:50 a.m. Railway police here have expressed confidence to find out the baby's mother with the help of their counterparts in Kasargod.
Apparently, the child's condition seems to be stable but the doctors are checking if he has any infections.
