Mangalore,December 17: Members of the Sri Rama Sene (SRS) staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday demanding cancellation of the scheduled cricket match between India and Pakistan at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore later this month.
Speaking on the occasion, division chief of Sri Ram Sena Kumar Malemar said that Pakistan is an enemy country and the Sena condemns the decision of the central as well as state governments to allow the Pakistani team to play in India.
He said, the Indian government has granted visas to Pakistani nationals to come over and watch the cricket matches in the country. In the past too, visas were granted to Pakistanis, many of whom stayed back in India and are planning to destroy the country.
The neighbouring country citizens must not be allowed to enter India, he said. If at all any untoward or violent incidents take place after the match, the government will be responsible, he said.
He also demanded security for the group's chief Pramod Mutalik on the occasion. Members of the group submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner on the occasion.
