Another saffron terrorist involved in Malegaon, Samjhauta blasts held

terrorismIndore, December 19: A saffron terrorist reportedly involved in Malegaon, Samjhauta and other blasts, has been nabbed by Satna police and handed over to the NIA.

The terror accused identified as Ram Lakhan Maharaj alias Dhan Singh alias Swami, a resident of Hatod (Indore) was arrested from a village under Naya Gaon police station area in Satna district on Monday.

This is the second arrest in Samjhauta Express blast case in three days. Earlier, on Saturday, the NIA had nabbed another terrorist Rajender Chaudhary alias Samundar from Nagda in Ujjain.

He is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast. Sources said that he was arrested from Kamta village where he was living as a priest for last one-and-half years.

The NIA will now figure out all connections of Singh with the Hindutva terror outfits and the blasts. Singh allegedly played an important role in the 2008 Malegaon blast.

Notably, the NIA had declared an award of Rs. 5 lakh on him. Sources said that Dhan was hiding at Omkareshwar and Dewas since his name figured in the case.

Satna police had some information about the hideout of Singh, who was living in a rented accommodation at Kamta village as a priest for the last three months. The police has arrested Singh and handed over to the investigating agency. The team of SDOP Naya Gaon Shivesh Singh Baghel picked him from his hut at around 3 pm on Monday. Later at around 5 pm, five NIA officials reached the district and the accused was handed over to them.

NIA believes that the connection of Singh was with right-wing Hindu outfits, including the 2006 and 2008 Malegaon blasts, Samjhauta train blasts, Ajmer (Rajasthan) and some other incidents.

According to sources, Singh was a close associate of Sunil Joshi, who was the mastermind behind Samjhauta Express blast occurred in 2007.

Mangaluru, Jan 31: Mahesh Vikram Hegde, the co-founder of website 'Postcard News', known for spreading fake news on behalf of Sangh Parivar, was taken aback when he was asked to sing 'Vande Mataram' to prove his patriotism by a group of women activists at Mangaluru International Airport.

The video of the incident which occurred on Friday, days after editor-in-chief and co-founder of Republic TV Arnab Goswami was heckled by comedian Kunal Kamra on a flight, went viral on social media within hours.

Hegde was spotted by social activist Kavitha Reddy, and other young orators – Najma Nazeer and Amulya Leona – at the airport where he was waiting to board a plane to Bengaluru.

In a video, the three women are seen coercing Hegde to sing 'Vande Mataram' and prove his patriotism. In another video being circulated, the women are heard telling the journalist that he is getting an opportunity to become a 'hero' from 'zero' if he sings 'Vande Mataram.' However, he refused to open his mouth.

Reddy is seen asking Hegde whether he knew the time when Nathuram Godse assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.

Hegde was arrested in 2018 for posting a fake news aimed at creating communal conflict.

Bengaluru, May 6: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Wednesday urged migrant workers to stay back as construction activities have resumed and also announced a Rs 1,610 crores COVID-19 financial package for the state.

The Chief Minister also said that close to one lakh persons, including migrant workers and students, among others, have so far been sent back to their home towns from Karnataka.

"We have sent around one lakh people in 3,500 buses and trains, back to their home towns. I have also appealed to migrant workers to stay as the construction work has resumed now," the Chief Minister said at a press conference on Wednesday.

"A package of Rs 1,610 crores will be released as COVID-19 financial relief. One time compensation of Rs 5,000 will be given to 2,30,000 barbers and 7,75,000 drivers," he added.

During the course of the press conference, the Chief Minister also announced compensation for floriculturists in the state.

Bengaluru, Feb 23: As India gears up to welcome Donald Trump on his maiden visit to the country, a kite artist flew a special 15-feet long kite to welcome the US President.

VK Rao, an international kite artist from Karnataka, crafted the special kite, which included the photographs of both Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the messages 'Namaste Trump' and 'Welcome to India'.

Speaking to ANI, Rao said: "We have created and flown this special kite to welcome the US President. The kite is 15 feet long."

Earlier, an Amritsar-based kite maker in Punjab had designed special kites to welcome Trump.

"As Donald Trump will be visiting India, so I have made some kites to welcome him. There are kites with pictures of PM Narendra Modi and Donald Trump," said Jagmohan Kanojia, the kite maker.

Preparations are on across the country to welcome Trump, who is scheduled to visit India on February 24 and 25.

During the visit, Trump is scheduled to participate in a roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will address a gathering at the Motera stadium.

On Monday evening, the President and his family will be visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra.
