Speaking at a protest organized in this regard on Friday in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangalore, Moideen Bawa, President, DK Congress Minority Cell, said that in spite of a year and a half passing by the culprits who murdered 35 year old Raziya and her 8-year old daughter Fatima Zuha in broad daylight at Panjimogaru, have not been brought to book.
Ensuring safety of the people of the district is the responsibility of Home Ministry and the state has failed in this regard. Women are not safe anymore in the society and the inability of the authorities to crack the murder case shows the state government's inability, Mr. Bawa said, demanding that the case be handed over to CBI.
Ivan D'Souza, advocate and KPCC General Secretary said that in spite of numerous protests demanding justice for Panjimogaru double murder victims, the government has failed in carrying out its duty. The elected representatives have mere assurances to offer. The mysterious death of fellow advocate Preetham has also not been cracked yet, Mr. D'Souza said and demanded the intervention of the Governor of the state.
Congress leaders Vijay Kumar Shetty, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Kripa Amar Alva, K S Mohammed Masood, K Ashraf were present besides others.
