Mangalore, December 24: The 'Sports Day' of Sneha Public School, Mangalore, was held on Saturday.

 

Ashfaq Ahmed, National President, Students Islamic  Organisation (SIO), inaugurated by hoisting the school flag.

 

Speaking on the occasion he said that as a student it was his involvement in extracurricular activities that helped him get identified as a special talent. Children must not remain as bookworms and involve themselves in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities, advised.

 

Zahid Hussain, District President, Welfare Party of India (WPI), also spoke and wished the school success.

 

Yusuf Pakkaladka, President, Human Welfare Trust, was present along with other trustees. Nagaratna, Headmistress of the school, welcomed. Quraisha Nusrat, Teacher, compered the programme. Deepkia proposed the vote of thanks.

Mangaluru, Jul 5: A veteran politician and former union minister has repeatedly tested positive for COVID-19 in the Dakshina Kannada.

The former minister, who resides in Bantwal taluk, is said to be asymptomatic.

His wife and children have also tested positive for the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, one of the kin of the former minister said that he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. "He is asymptomatic and doing well," he said.

Mangaluru, Jul 21: Private hospitals cannot send back COVID-19 patients for any reason, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said on Monday.

The Minister was addressing a meeting at the Father Muller Medical College here on the arrangements made for COVID-19 patients.

Dakshina Kannada district is quite advanced in the medical field. Hence, the government will not tolerate COVID-19 patients wandering from one hospital to another for treatment. Refusing to admit COVID-19 patients in hospitals is unacceptable, he warned.

Bengaluru, Mar 4: A total of five people suspected of being infected with Coronavirus have been admitted to the isolation wards of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases in Bengaluru.

Samples of these patients have been collected and their reports are likely to be received later today.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has assured people in state about preparedness to tackle Coronavirus.

Earlier in the day, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had said that there were 28 cases of Coronavirus in the country and added that universal screening of all international flights will begin to control the spread of the deadly virus.

Global deaths due to Coronavirus outbreak have risen above 3,000.
