Belthangady, December 25: A delegation of Child Rights Protection Commission led by its Chairperson Umesh Aradhya H S visited the family members of Pangalamane Saujanya, who was found murdered about two-and-half months ago.
Meeting the family members of the victim in Belthangady on Monday, the Commission promised to see to it that there is no delay in dispensation of justice in the case.
Speaking to the delegation, the family members of the victim expressed suspicion that culprits might have raped and murdered her in a difference place and later dumped on the road-side bushes.
They said that they had visited the place where Saujanya was murdered, on the same night when she went missing but her dead body was not seen at the place.
“How did the dead body appear at the spot the next day? We sense foul play in this because we feel she was murdered at a different place and her dead body was brought and dumped here,” they said.
The family also expressed contempt over the fact that the Commission visited them two and half months after the incident.
Responding to the family members, the Chairman said that information will be collected on the Saujanya murder case and the report will be submitted to the Government through the departments concerned. The Police and the CID are looking into the case and the Commission will see to it that there is no delay in investigation of the case.
Pointing at the difference of versions of Saujanya's n and the reports, he said that all efforts will be made to bring the truth to light.
Commission Members B Shivarajegowda, Vanita Toravi, Vikram among others were a part of the delegation.
Activist gets bail
Meanwhile, Nagarika Seva Trust president K Somanatha Nayak, who had been booked for allegedly “defaming reputation a prominent temple and its head,” in connection with the rape and murder case of Saujanya, has secured anticipatory bail from a local court.
