Ahmedabad, September 20: Decrying Narendra Modi for using Swami Vivekananda as his political mascot and challenging his knowledge on Hindu philosophy, suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt has written yet another letter to the chief minister.

Bhatt, a known Modi baiter had accused him of instructing state machinery to allow Hindus to vent out their anger against the minority community and earlier written a letter after the Naroda Patia riots case verdict.

"Did you ever think of Vivekananda or his ideology when thousands of innocent children of divine light were mercilessly massacred under your watch or when inconvenient and expendable individuals were liquidated at your instance?

Did the voice of Swami Vivekananda ever prick your conscience in the eerie silence of continuing subjugation and dominance?" Bhatt has written to Modi in his letter on Wednesday. In the letter earlier this month, Bhatt had accused the Modi of 'abandoning' his 'loyal lieutenants' after the Naroda Patia verdict. Now, he has condemned Modi of using Vivekananda for his political campaign. Modi has launched a state-wide Swami Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra.

"Your megalomania for grandeur and self-consuming hunger for power can be appropriately graced by historical figures like Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Bernard Munyagishari, Radovan Karadžic or Ratko Mladic. Any of these icons would be appropriate mascots for the on-going Gujarat government funded Yuva Vikas Yatra," said Bhatt.

Challenges Modi's understanding of Hindu philosophy, Bhatt writes "it seems that you are not adequately acquainted with the major philosophical underpinnings of the thought systems of Hindu Philosophy".

"We know that Swami Vivekananda believed that 'Religion is the idea which is raising the brute unto man, and man unto God'. But you seem to have conveniently reduced God to a particular religion, a wholly misconceived religion that converts some of your enthusiastic and gullible followers in to heartless brutes who are potentially willing to kill innocent people.

"Where does Swami Vivekananda or his venerable ideology fit into your diabolical scheme of Realpolitik?" said Bhatt in the letter.

Mumbai, Apr 20: At least 53 media persons from Mumbai have tested positive for coronavirus, a city civic official said on Monday.

During a special camp organised at the Azad Maidan here on April 16 and 17 for COVID-19 testing of scribes, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) collected swab samples of 171 mediapersons, including electronic and print media journalists, photographers and cameramen.

“Out of the 171 mediapersons, 53 tested positive for coronavirus,” BMC spokesperson Vijay Khabale said, adding that most of those who tested positive are asymptomatic at present.

All the mediapersons found infected with coronavirus will be kept in isolation and a process was underway to find out suitable places to the purpose, he said.

Efforts were also on to trace their high and low risk contacts.

Till Sunday, Mumbai recorded 2,724 coronavirus cases and 132 deaths due to the disease.

Jaipur, Jul 14: Sachin Pilot has been removed as Deputy Chief Minister and Rajasthan PCC Chief, announced Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Tuesday.

"Sachin Pilot, Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena have been removed from the posts of Deputy Chief Minister and Ministerial posts respectively. Sachin Pilot has also been removed as the Rajasthan PCC Chief," said Surjewala.

Govind Singh Dotasra has been appointed as the new PCC chief, he added.

"Sachin Pilot, few Congress Ministers and MLAs got involved in the conspiracy to topple the Congress government by getting entangled within the trap of BJP," he added.

The decision was taken after a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at the Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan earlier today.

The Rajasthan Congress is in turmoil over the past few days. While Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has blamed the BJP for attempting to destabilise the State government by poaching MLAs, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has been camping in Delhi.

A controversy broke out in Rajasthan after Special Operation Group (SOG) sent a notice to Pilot to record his statement in the case registered by SOG in the alleged poaching of Congress MLAs in the State.
