PVHyderabad, December 15: Former Prime Minister, the late P.V.Narasimha Rao, wanted the construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya through an ‘apolitical’ trust and prepared an ‘unshakeable’ master plan. He believed this could be done by the trust that could enjoy ‘acceptability’ from all corners of the Hindu religion because it was headed by Sringeri seer Sri Bharati Theertha Swamy as chairman.

Narasimha Rao also saw to it that seers of all other important Hindu Mutts and heads of ‘Gaddis’ in Ayodhya were roped into the trust.

This was stated by the former Media Advisor and Additional Secretary to Prime Minister, P.V.R.K. Prasad, after Sri Bharathi Theertha Swamy released a book written by him and titled ‘Wheels Behind the Veil (CMs, PMs and beyond)’. The Telugu version was published last year. The details of the plan conceived by Narasimha Rao were revealed by Mr. Prasad at ‘Guruvandanam’, a crowded reception held in honour of Sringeri Seer at the Lalitha Kala Thoranam here on Friday.

The former IAS officer said the seer had agreed to head the trust after much persuasion, around the same time that he observed his ‘Chathurmasa Deeksha’ (four-month-long worship) in New Delhi. The book, published by Emesco, contains the experiences of Mr. Prasad who served eight Chief Ministers and a Prime Minister in various capacities.

It has many ‘startling revelations and inside stories’ about squabbles in the Prime Minister’s Office, lobbying in New Delhi by the Bachchans and Ambanis, party funds and Congress leaders’ plot to topple Rao’s government, former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao’s unpredictable actions and so on.

Mar 11: Thirteen of the 22 rebel MLAs in Madhya Pradesh have given an assurance that "they are not leaving the Congress", senior party leader Digvijaya Singh said on Thursday while expressing confidence that the Kamal Nath-led government in the state will win a floor test.

"We are not keeping quiet. We are not sleeping," Singh told PTI, a day after Congress leader from the state Jyotiraditya Scindia quit the Congress and 22 MLAs submitted their resignations from the assembly in Madhya Pradesh.

Scindia was offered the post of Madhya Pradesh deputy chief minister but wanted his nominee, Singh said. However, Kamal Nath refused to accept a "chela", he said.

Scindia, he said, could have been a Congress nominee to the Rajya Sabha but "only Modi-Shah" can give a Cabinet post to the "over-ambitious" leader.
