Kannada international stars presented a fabulous show 'Temptation 2012' in Dubai

Dubai, April 30: Enthrall World, an event management company for the first time in UAE presented a huge star studded show in UAE called Temptation 2012 International Kannada Stars at Dubai Tennis Stadium.

The April 27 event witnessed by over 700 music loving Kannadigas of UAE.

Nonstop programme without a break connecting the audience throughout the three hours show is being rarely viewed in recent days. This is one show that put together with a good scripting enthralled the audience throughout connecting heart to heart raising the Kannada language up high in the air specially in Dubai after a long gap.

Though the actual programme started at around 8:40pm everyone could hear the stars speaking from the stage back ground from 7:30 pm onwards that they are getting ready to present the show after the prayers.

This initially kept the audience connected and when Ramesh Arvind came on live with his beautiful inaugural speech it really touched the hearts of all the Kannadigas who cheered applauding continuously.

Mr Arvind who completed 25 years of his acting career in Kannada Films was felicitated and honoured with 'Mysore Peta' and shawl by the organiser Prasad and the main sponsors.

The star studded show comprised of Ramesh Arvind, Upendra, Tarun Chandra, Dhiganth, Vijaya Raghavendra, Radhika Gandhi, Pooja Gandhi, Neetu, Adhendrida Ray, Pragna, Harshika Poonacha, Sadhu Kokila, Bank Janardhan, Tennis Krishna and Arun Sagar along with Music Director Hari Krishna and his singers Anuradha Bhat, Chetan and Mrs. Hari Krishna gave a really enchanting performances liked and loved by all the audience present.

Moreover the dances performed by the local talents 'Ocean Kids' Group were really superb though they were given just one day rehearsal by visiting Choreographer Harsha. One more thing to be praised is the orchestra comprising of Deva and his troupe of only 3 musicians created a sound effect of fully fledged troupe.

The flow of the programme went smoothly one after another with great performances by all the current hot Star cast of Kannada 'Sandalwood' film industry who were really down to earth personalities without any head weights mingled with the UAE audiences just like a common person. In between the programme were comedy skits by Bank Janardhan, Tennis Krishna & Sadhu Kokila who presented some humorous rib tickling comedy items which added spice to the programme. But the best person who came on with various roles spontaneously was Arun Sagar a brilliant personality with mind blowing script flowing like sea as his name mentions.

Pooja Gandhi came on in midst of the audience and shared her song from her first film 'Mungaru Male' and the audience enjoyed every bit of it. Upendra too joined the audience and danced with children. He sang some numbers of his film which was overjoyed by his fans in Dubai. Dhighant had many fans who wanted to dance with him and he did it later. Vijaya Raghavendra too called one of his fan on to the stage and danced with her.

Chilly Willy released their energy drink in between the show to all the stars and later distributed to the audience.

On the whole the programme was one of its kind ever presented in UAE for quite some time. The organisers praised the media representative for the success of the programme and promised more programmes in the future. Those who could not attend this event really lost a chance of being part of a good magical theme based programme liked and loved by those who were present connected like 'abhimanigale devru' well said in the concluding part of the programme.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
