Jubai, May 20: Goodinabali Welfare Association (GWA), organised a unique get-together of Bearys ‘Sandola-2012’ at the sprawling United Beach Camp, in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As a continuation of its tradition, GWA made the event, a true ‘sandola’ (enjoyment) for the Bearys from Mangalroe, as enthusiastic audience sat glued to their seat to enjoy the fun filled afternoon.

The entertainment began after the customary Qur’an recitation and welcome speech by the president of the association Anwar Hussain GM. The spectators were awakened from thelethargy of sumptuous meals arranged by GWA when the anchor of the programme posed them an ice- breaker tricky question to answer.

A series of funny and speculating answers to the tricky question really set the tone for the fun filled prime time show of ‘Sandola’ between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

The event included entertainment competitions such as ‘biscuit eating’, ‘city hunt’, ‘dumb charade’, ‘photo quiz’, ‘passing the lemons’ and ‘balloon game’.

It was a thorough laughing session for the audience when teams performed the task of eating biscuits kept on their forehead without the assistance of hand. People emptied their laughing capacities when ‘dumb charade’ performance of some of the participants reached the highest level of fun and wit. The photo quiz questions posed intermittently kept the audience in tenterhooks.

However, the ultimate attraction of the day was the flash ‘Duff’ performance by the Goodinabali Team which executed the sudden and unnoticed sequence of the ‘Duff’ performance in a perfect splendor tuned to the melody of devotional Islamic lyrics.

After a 15 minutes of Asr prayer break, people were seen rushing back to their seats to enjoy the remaining entertainment items of the day. An extended session of the laughter filled pick and act session after the break took the people to extreme end of exhaustion.

After the tea- break, the outdoor games started at 4:30 pm. The people who were tired of the regular volley ball and cricket games were enthused by the traditional ‘lagor’ game of Tulunadu. The youngsters participated enthusiastically in the game of ‘lagori’ organized by sports coordinators Mr. Rizwan, Mr. Abdul Latheef and Mr. Abdul Jabbar. ‘Pot Breaking’ drew the usual enthusiastic crowd. The penalty shootout drill gave the sports fans the much needed additional game requirement.

The ceremony was anchored by Kamarudeen with the help of GM Ameer, Sameeullah, Shafiullah, IqbalBangadi, Nissar and others. Asif Goodinabali and Saleem GK along with GM Anwar Hussain coordinated the entire program. A dedicated team of volunteers lead by Sadiq GM facilitated various activities of the day.

Ladies too had a wonderful festive day at the women’s section of the sprawling campus. Variety of programs were conducted for women in a fun filled environment. Power point presentation based quiz programme and other some other screen based games ably conducted by the women’s wing of GWA with the help of volunteers drawn from some other organizations. Children actively participated in Qur’an recitation competition as well as spot quiz competition.

The joyful events of the day concluded at around 7.00 pm in a valedictory session in which prizes were distributed to winners. Raffle draw provided opportunity for the participants to win various prizes and coupons.
