KMA-Kuwait holds programme on Islamic Family

Kuwait, June 1: "O you, who believe! Guard your selves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones..." the verse from the holy Qur'an was referred by the Islamic scholar Sifat Alam while delivering a detailed discourse at a public programme organised by Indian Muslim Association-Kuwait at Jamiyatul Islah Auditorium, Rawda.

Elaborating on the subject of ‘Establishing Allah's commandments on one’s Family’ Nisar Ahmed lamented that the love and affection towards Allah along with the belief (Aqeeda) shall be the building block to establish the Deen of Islam in one’s family and society at large. He further added that one’s target should be to encourage every member of the family to perform good deeds that will be indeed beneficial in this World as well as in the Hereafter.

Sifat Alam also delivered a lecture on the subject 'Children - our precious assets' had referred various verses from the holy Qur'an and the teachings of various Prophets.

He insisted the parents to keenly observe and implement the advice of Luqman (pubh) the wise to his son. He said an urgent attention shall be given for the development of values of the new generation to build a society on Islamic lines.

The programme was arranged in cooperation with Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Islam Presentation Committee (IPC).

Dr. Sulaiman Al-Shatti Director Community Section, Jamiyatul Islah was the chief guest of the function.

The programme started with the serene and beautiful recitation of the holy Quran by Hafiz Abdul Rahman.

MA President Mohammad Aslam presided over the function. The speeches were followed by an interactive questions and answers session. The programme was convened by Khurshid Alam.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
