Uppinangdy man finally wins compensation for accident in Dubai

Dubai, June 12: Abdul Rahman Kemmara, a 29 year old youth from Uppinangadi, working in Dubai, finally received the claim of AED 160,000 as compensation for an accident.

On 29th of May 2011, Abdul Rehman was walking through the streets of Deira near Murshid bazaar when suddenly a piece of concrete slab fell upon his head from an old un-maintained building. He was seriously injured and was rushed to Rashid Hospital in an unconscious condition, operated and kept in ICU for three days. On getting discharged from the hospital, Mr. Abdul Rehman was instructed by the doctors to take complete bed rest for 3 months.

Though case had been registered at Naif police station, but the expected action against the real estate company on claiming insurance was not found.

Later Mr. Rehman contacted EIFF for help and after scrutinizing the entire case thoroughly, EIFF initiated to help him with the effort of dedicated volunteers and a well-known lawyer.

The efforts came into practical shape when finally the EIFF team succeeded to negotiate with the insurance company in releasing the amount of AED160, 000 as a compensation which was highly appreciated by Mr. Abdul Rehman, his family and the community.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
