UAE’s budding dancing star Vikyath Poojary selected for 'Jhalak Dikhlaja' contest

Dubai, July 10: Born in Mangalore in Karnataka state of India, Vikyath Vijay Poojary moved to Mumbai early in life, and joined St. Anthony’s High School, Vakola. After passing High school in Mumbai in 2009 with a high first class, another migration happened, this time to Dubai, Gulf Indian High School. Senior Secondary Examination was under CBSE board in 2012 scoring 81%. Vikyath is now enrolled at Manipal University Dubai for Mass Media and Communications studies, eagerly waiting for classes to start from September 1, 2012.


Vikyath’s father Vijay S Poojary a professional Executive Souse Chef working in world’s largest flight Kitchen (Emirates Flight Catering Dubai) which produces over 120,000 meals daily is flattered by his sons performances recently. He has been in this profession for over 25 years. His mother, previously a successful pastry chef now dedicates all her time to the family and home. The parents are very supportive and it is because of their motivation and support, Vikyath got ready to perform in Jhalak Dikhla Ja – UAE-2012’ and try his best to win the title.


Vikyath currently dances with a Dubai Dance group ‘Show Stoppers’ led by Sarah Pinto and Sajith Babu. He has Performed with many celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Mohit Chauhan, Jal (Pakistani band), Usha Uthup, Shakti Mohan (Dance India Dance winner), Shreya Goshal, Javed Ali, Roma and Bhavna (Malayalam actress) all over UAE as a part of the group.


Also part of a Hip Hop Dance Crew ‘Mysidia Crew’ which specializes in Bboying (Break Dancing). This is a crew filled with members having unique abilities unique moves, Flips and Style.


Achievements


· Participated In ‘Boogie Woogie Internationals – U.A.E’ held in Sheikh Rashid Auditorium- Dubai, Year 2010 and won the competition which was judged by well known Bollywoood Dance Guru ‘Saroj Khan’.


· Recently participated In Duet Dance Competition ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja - UAE Extravaganza ,2012’. Auditions were held at Hyatt Regency Deira Dubai on 8th June 2012.Serveral Contestants showed up in Pairs out which only 12 pairs Were Selected For the Finals which was held in Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai on 16th June 2012.


Vikyath Poojary and his partner Hitesh Rajani were one among them. They put up a patriotic act giving a message that ‘Borders divide but we all are human beings’. They performed on the mix of two songs Maula Mere Le Le Meri Jaan – ‘Chak De India’ And Bandhey – ‘Black Friday’. Judge Rajeev Khinchi said he was speechless and that it was some flawless dancing. While Meghna Naidu said she was in love with their dancing and with both of them. The Judges even liked the fact that such a wonderful message came through dancing. Results were announced and Vikyath and Hitesh won the 1st Place and now they have an opportunity to go to Mumbai and perform with Madhuri Dixit at the show in July this year.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Dubai: A non-profitable social organization, KSCC is delivering a great service to the community during this pandemic situation.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club is a civil organization registered under Community Development Authority (CDA) involved in implementing various UAE government initiatives, blood donation drives, health campaigns, sport events, charity works, awareness programs and much more.

KSCC is currently actively liaising with Dubai government authorities in discharging the needs and requirements of the people in these challenging covid-19 pandemic times. It is also involved the activities such as logistics, coordinating stores, mobilizing isolation centers, equipping quarantine facilities and volunteering services.

During these testing times, KSCC is also facilitating the Guidance to the general public, follow-up up to 122 covid positive cases, counselling the affected, assisting the references and providing the ever-necessary emotional support by setting up a team of 24 reserved persons for call center helplines.

As per the request from DHA (Dubai Health Authority) KSCC has successfully organized the blood donation drive and donated upto 141 units of blood with the help of KSCC members & supporters.

Apart from above, KSCC is also engaged in serving needy by distributing the food provisional kit (Yestahloon) from the very 1st day of lockdown till day by their special task force team under guidelines of CDA, and also taking into consideration the month of Ramadan, team is successfully distributing Iftar food & provision kit with the help of donors.

In the 1st Phase, KSCC covered 2421 beneficiaries by providing 440 provisional food kits, 435 food pack and 529 Iftar kits.

As per the CDA guidelines, club is also engaged in following up the health condition of senior citizens living in UAE.

KSCC special team is also engaged in clearing documentation and formalities related to dead body repatriation until its final procedures and handing over to relatives with help of UAE governments authorities. Total 5 dead bodies are repatriated in their 1st phase of service.

KSCC is also having a center controlled special task team to assist all above activities during the covid-19 pandemic to continue the services to general public.

KSCC thanks all Government authorities, Members in different task team, supporters and Sponsors company MAERSK, MALABAR GOLD & DIAMOND and TAMIL ENTREPRENEUR for their support and also request extend their support to consolidate the above demanding service and deliver our best possible assistance not only because it is the month of Ramadan, but also our responsibility to reach out to the poor and needy, during this fight against Covid-19.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
